My itinerant upbringing has left an indelible mark on my work, drawing me to stories that blur the line between reality and fantasy.
At the heart of each story is a central query: how does someone on the margins—unseen, overlooked—find a sense of self-worth? Is it something we create by pushing back against societal/cultural standards, or is it something bestowed on us by our lineage, our ancestors?
My characters wrestle with this question while moving through unstable and unforgiving worlds where salvation is ever-illusive and highly provisional.
